A Detailed Review of the LSAT Study Guide

The LSAT (Law School Admission Test) is conducted by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) and is a standardized test for prospective law school candidates. The test is designed to evaluate reading comprehension, as well as logical and verbal reasoning efficiency. A good LSAT study guide will help you to sharpen your skill sets in these areas and crush the exam easily.

Before choosing an LSAT study guide it is important to know the current form of exam that has been prevalent since 1991 so that you will know precisely which sections of the guide you should concentrate on. The LSAT has five sections comprising three scored multiple-choice questions, an unscored experimental section, and an unscored writing section. For evaluation, raw scores are converted to a scaled score, the high being 180, the low 120, and an average score of 150.

The contents of a typical LSAT study guide cover these areas.

·        Logical Reasoning: There are multiple-choice questions in this section for practice. It is commonly called “arguments” and is designed to test the ability to dissect and analyze arguments. Each practice question starts with a set of facts followed by a prompt that provides several likely answers.

·        Reading comprehension: In this section of the test, the LSAT study guide provides passages of 400 to 500 words each and 5 to 8 questions related to the passage. The content relates to law, the arts, or the humanities.

·        Logic Games: This is the analytical reasoning section where an answer has to be derived from a given set of facts. This is the most difficult part of the LSAT.

Take the help of an LSAT study guide to crack the exam.
